Numbers Are Special

* 22 * : The number of June bugs we caught and destroyed in our house last night.
Being that is was such a beautiful evening, we decided to keep all the doors in our house open to enjoy the lovely breeze. Instead we were inundated by my favorite flying bug.

* 6 in 60 * : The number of uterine contractions in an amount of time that may be a signal of active labor and should head over to the hospital for.

* 3 to 4 * : The average amount of contractions I experienced an hour last night, ALL NIGHT.

* 36 * : The number of weeks pregnant I am.

* 3 * : The number of times Rob and I were visited by Olive last night because she "didn't have to sleep". "She was "all done" going to bed and wanted to do things such as play with her tea set and watch Sleeping Beauty (very ironic).

* 9000 * : The amount of tears that were shed by Olive in the three separate attempts to get her tiny hiney back in bed.

* 4 * : The total hours actually spent in slumber last night from 9:30pm to 7:30am.

* 1 * : I received one large hug and one crusty kiss from my one daughter this morning as she held my face in her hands and said, "Mommy, I love you so much...... Can you brush your teeth?"

My New Favorite Summer Show

Did anyone watch WIPEOUT last night?
I do not recall the last time I laughed so hard! I literally had contractions from all the deep, belly laughs this show provided.

Clever commentary + Silly people trying to win money on a reality show by looking like a fool + Lots of slipping and falling= Huge, hilarious hit!

It is on ABC at 8pm on Tuesday night.

You MUST watch this!

See This Movie!

Yesterday, Rob and I took Olive to the movie theatre for the first time and saw Kung Fu Panda. It is very cute and funny! I highly recommend it. It's a great family movie.

Deep Family Discussions

Daddy:" Hey, Olive. Your birthday is coming up! What kind of birthday party would you like?"

Olive: "A PINCESS ONE!!!!!!"

Daddy and Mommy in unison, "OOhhhh!"

Olive: "I can be Belle..."

"Mommy, you can be Sleeping Beauty..."

"Daddy, you can be Pince Ewic..."

"And my baby sister can be Swiper!"

Daddy and Mommy laughing hysterically.

Mommy: "Why is your baby sister Swiper?"

Olive: "Because she takes all my toys like Riley takes Jackson Tyler's cars."

Daddy and Mommy in unison: "Hhhmmm".

A Fun Afternoon With Grandma

Yesterday my mom and Olive and I spent a fun and heat filled afternoon at Disneyland. We had a great time! Here are some highlights:

Olive, Grandma, and Mickey

Princess Olive and Queen Grandma Kat in front of their castle

We wanted to see this exciting show but were worried we would actually shrink! This kind employee assured us that no actual shrinking is involved in the show.
We decided to take him for his word.

My mom bought Olive these princess figurines at the princess store. Once Olive received them, she wanted to change into her Cinderella pajamas and "go home". So, we did just that as she played with her new friends.

Here she is with Belle on her "baby belly".

Thanks for everything, mom! We love you!

Just A Thought....

So, the Lakers lost tonight.

My husband is sulking.

He is literally walking around the house muttering senseless things to himself as though he suffers from Tourette's Syndrome.

"mmmmnmnm......Lakers.....mmnmnmmnm....blow a 24 point lead.....mnmnmnmmnm......B*L*E*E*P!"

Then a break.

"Babe, I'm going to bed. Lakers lost. Love you."

"mmmmnmnmnn......"B*L*E*E*P !! mmmnmnnn.......COME ON, KOBE!!

I don't recall reacting like that when my favorite American Idol is voted off, or when I don't get the final question on Jeopardy right.

I guess it's yet another unexplained mystery of the differences between women and apes...I mean, men.

The Perfect Summer Dessert

If you love key lime pie, you're going to LOVE this! It takes less than 10 minutes to make and is great for entertaining or satisfying a tart/sweet pregnancy craving.

Easy Key Lime Pie
from REAL SIMPLE Magazine

1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 6-ounce can frozen limeade concentrate (not thawed)
1 cup heavy cream
1 6-ounce graham cracker piecrust
Zest of 1 lime

Place the condensed milk, limeade concentrate, and cream in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment.

Beat until fluffy and soft peaks form.

Pour the filling into the piecrust and smooth the top.

Refrigerate until chilled and loosely set, at least 4 hours (and up to overnight).

Sprinkle the pie with the zest before serving.

Yield: Makes 6 servings

Enjoy!

What We've Been Up To These Past Coulple Of Days

On Sunday the three of us spent a nice afternoon at the Los Angeles Natural History Museum where we mingled with dinosaurs...

And checked out the animals. Olive was a bit confused as to why all the animals on display were "stuck". We told her they were holding still for all the pictures people take of them.
It seemed to work.

Next we headed outdoors to the museum's Pavillion of Wings where we observed and avoided head-on collisions with beautiful butterflies such as this one.

Then we explored the spectacular Rose Garden next to the museum. It truly was a lovely day.

On Monday night, it was the first time we took Olive to Disneyland dressed as Cinderella, complete with tiara and plastic "glass" slippers. She was ecstatic, to say the least.
Here she is thanking Cinderella's fairy godmother for her "glass" slippers DURING Disneyland's Parade of Dreams. It was a very sweet moment.

The next day we meet up with some fun friends for lunch and cupcakes.

Then we spent the afternoon with Olive's favorite female duo, Megan and Collin.
The girls dressed up like princesses (surprise, surprise) and played.

We introduced Collin to our gigantic slide...

And watched her enjoy it her own special way.

So far, so good!

Excuses, Excuses.....

Please excuse my lack of recent posts.
When not picking up after Olive, and cooking and ironing for Rob, I spend most of my free time (all 12 hours of it) indulging in this frozen treat:

And being that this is my last pregnancy, I only have these last 6-7 weeks to completely binge on any sweet treat I crave without having to worry about the extra pound or 10 that I gain....

Weekly.

O.k.... Daily.

Don't judge me.
